The citizens of Budapest had voted to allocate public funding for a new kind of bicycle parking infrastructure which is already popular in the Netherlands: on-street bicycle garages (or lockable shelters) for residential building inhabitants.

BLOCK had successfully won several projects with its G6 bicycle garage solution during the public procurement for such installations.

One of them is the 2nd district of Budapest, who ordered 2 G6 bicycle garages in the single configuration at two different locations. They opted to use our off-grid solar-powered RFID opening method which is a modern, reliable way to open the garages.

A special request was to deliver the units with a clear polycarbonate roof and to have decorative WPC paneling on all 3 sides – and BLOCK fulfilled the project on time, despite the historical snowfall that was happening exactly during the installation period.
