District IX – Ferencváros

The citizens of Budapest had voted to allocate public funding for a new kind of bicycle parking infrastructure which is already popular in the Netherlands: on-street bicycle garages (or lockable shelters) for residential building inhabitants.

BLOCK had successfully won several projects with its G6 bicycle garage solution during the public procurement for such installations.

One of them is the 9th district of Budapest, who ordered 2 G6 bicycle garages in a double (built together) configuration. They opted to use our standard key opening method which is a simple and cost effective way to open the garages.

The location turned out to be way too popular as there was already a triple oversubscription at launch – definitely a sign to expand the G6 network to nearby locations!
